Portion sizes and pricing swing widely across this group, from a $10 lunch bowl to a multi-course tasting menu at an upscale sushi counter, so checking recent reviews and photos is more useful than the price range alone. In Asheville, dinner reservations for popular izakaya, hot pot and Korean BBQ spots fill up on Friday and Saturday nights, so booking ahead or arriving at opening is worth it. Many restaurants across North Carolina run daily lunch specials on weekdays that are not listed on the dinner menu, so it is worth asking. Halal, vegetarian and gluten-free options vary a lot by kitchen; call ahead if you have a dietary restriction rather than assuming the menu will note it.
The business lists hours on 3 days of the week. On most of those days it is open 2β9 pm. Note that it does not open on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. You can reach Cassia at (828) 301-5991; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. More information is available on its website, cassia-avl.com.
Customers rate it 4.9 out of 5 on Google across 61 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded thai restaurants in Asheville.
Asheville is in North Carolina, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. Getting around Asheville is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across North Carolina's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Came to the Cellarest brewery where the food truck is located. They opened in late afternoon. We got the musubi and it was great. Menu seems to change month to month but great Hawaiian-Asian fare consistently.

Something new and fresh all the time with themed menus and updates makes Cassia one of the best places to keep coming back to in Asheville!

Cassia never disappoints. Even after the...40th? time. Also amazing food, great service, and the best people. The stir fried bamboo was soooooo good. I have no idea what the other person is talking about. Personally when I want authentic Thai, I come here, and I expect some heat(calling this dish too spicy is like saying Cellarest's beer is too wet). I guess if I wanted less spicy Thai, I'd recommend something frozen from the center aisle and Ingles. But maybe that's too much spice on spicy food for some people.

We took a chance to try something interesting on their menu. There were 3 people in the truck and very few people in the bar, so they definitely werenβt busy. We tried the Fresh stir fried Bamboo - and were excited to try it. It does mention that Thai chili is in it, however the dish was so spicy, we couldnβt take more than two bites. Most disappointing however was the lack of concern from the staff. I was told that βit says that it has Thai chiliβ so, sorry. Not even an offer to try something else, or any real concern that we were unhappy with our meal. Big customer service miss. Shame. Because Cellerest is a good bar.

My only wish is that more people will love and appreciate how good the food is. This is a chef that offers no apologies to the Appalachian palate and stays true to authentic thai flavors. The fact that most thai restaurants from here to Columbia SC offer NO "Prik nam pla" (fish sauce with thai chili's) as a side is surprising. It's not an option, its mandatory for authentic thai flavors. They one up it with having a pickled thai chili side. Their orange hot sauce is house made as well.
